The Timothy Demonbreun Heritage Society was founded in 1975 by several Demonbreun descendants to promote and preserve Middle Tennessee history and the history of Timothy Demonbreun. It currently has members nationwide, both Demonbreun descendants and people just interested in history and genealogy.
The Society has regular meetings twice a year along with special meetings in the summer or Christmas holiday season. The first regular meeting is held to coincide with Timothy Demonbreun's birthday, March 23rd. It falls on the Saturday closest to that date. This is usually a combination business meeting and genealogy meeting. It is traditionally held in Nashville, TN.
The second yearly meeting is held in September. It is a fun trip for the members to some special destination in frontier history. Past trips include Kaskaskia, IL; Nashville, TN; Boucherville, Quebec, Canada; and Barren River, KY. The Fall Fun Trip is planned over a weekend to allow everyone the opportunity to attend.
The Society publishes a newsletter 2-4 times per year to keep members informed about meetings, share information about the Demonbreun families, and make all members aware of any new information found about genealogy or history. Currently, the newsletter is only available to members.
